APG consists of two major business units: Fund Operations/Participant and Employer Services (FB/DWS) and Asset Management. In addition, there are the Staff and Support Services, which are departments that support all business units, such as IT, Facility Services, People & Change, and Group Finance.
Fund Operations/Participant and Employer Services (FB/DWS)
APG serves more than 22,500 employers and 4.7 million pension participants affiliated with 8 pension funds. In total, we manage over 30% of all collective pensions in the Netherlands. The colleagues at FB/DWS are responsible for the full range of pension services, administration, and communication for our fund clients, their participants, and the employers of those participants. They implement the agreements made with the funds as effectively as possible and ensure flawless pension administration and excellent service for our participants, employers, and funds, both in daily operations and during the transition to the new pension system. FB/DWS consists of the departments Business Improvement & Change, Fund Services, and Pension Administration (which includes our Customer Contact Center). These departments work closely together to support the funds, provide participants with relevant communication, ensure timely pension payments, and prepare our systems for the future. Around 1,600 colleagues work at FB/DWS from our offices in Heerlen and Amsterdam.
Asset Management
APG is one of the world’s largest pension investors, managing over €600 billion in assets on behalf of our funds. Our goal is to manage this capital as responsibly as possible, aiming to deliver strong investment returns for our clients in a sustainable way.
The Asset Management division employs more than 1,200 investment professionals. We operate globally, with APG offices in Amsterdam, Heerlen, Brussels, New York, Hong Kong, and Singapore. This global presence allows pension funds and their participants to benefit from our extensive local investment expertise, access to high-quality investment opportunities, and mandates with external asset managers. Our scale also enables us to negotiate favorable terms, which we pass on to our funds and their participants, contributing to stable long-term returns and low costs.
